KMCA Joins National Effort to Root Out Bad Actions
The Kansas Motor Carriers Association is proud to join
the Trucking Association Executive Council (TAEC) – a
broad group of state and national trucking associations
from across America – in a coordinated effort to
eliminate fraud.
This isn’t about adding red tape. It’s about protecting the
legitimate carriers who make Kansas trucking strong.
Our industry represents 1 in 14 jobs across Kansas –
that’s 84,160 hardworking professionals who keep
our state and nation moving. With 17,710 trucking
companies operating in Kansas, the vast majority are
small, locally owned businesses doing things the right
way.
The Problem We’re Facing
Across the country, unscrupulous operators are exploiting gaps in regulatory systems. They obtain commercial licenses without proper training. They manipulate electronic logs to hide violations. They use stolen identities to commit freight fraud. They repeatedly reopen under new names to escape bad safety records.
The TAEC has developed a comprehensive plan addressing seven critical vulnerabilities that bad actors exploit.
